Hi--It sounds like you have a nickel allergy (nickel is in everything). I've had this since I first got my ears pierced as a kid. I cannot wear any costume jewelry; just 10K or 14K (& no sterling silver). HOWEVER! Target has nickel-free earrings (most of their jewelry is nickel free). Try it. But always make sure it says on it "nickel free" Some of the "for sensitive ears" is not nickel free. Good luck!

Love the frame color but I'm really impressed with the tag idea for stud earrings! Great idea. I have several of those metal sheets and I need to give this a try.

This is such a great idea, Pam! The pierced metal is so much prettier than screen or something like that. I can use nickel-free earrings, and I can wear others if I paint the post and earring back with clear nail polish.

Well, now!! You've gone and got me redoing one of my projects. I've got to go rip the chicken wire out of my frame and add this! I love this look much better!!! It turned out beautifully!!

This is adorable and I love that color. I love the sheeting you used versus the chicken wire, super cute! I have 4 holes in my ears and haven't worn earrings since my wedding day because they got so infected. Just recently found out I'm allergic to all sorts of metals 🙁

I love this repurposed frame idea. The frame is gorgeous, and I love the color. Funny story about getting my ears pierced. My sister and I were in our teens. She made me go first, and said "did it hurt?" Of course I lied and said no. hahahah I'm not sure she's ever forgotten it.

In reply to AnnTN. OK, they seem to be working now. Wonder if they didn't have their posts up as early as they normally do. What's odd is it used to happen with all kinds - nickel, 14K gold, silver etc, but now the earrings I have been buying are inexpensive ones that are mostly handmade so you know they're not using the most expensive metals. Something has changed and I think it's how my body reacts to metal now???
